Submitting articles
We can deal with articles provided
as:
- a Microsoft Word file
- the body text of an email
- good quality printed hardcopy
Please provide any accompanying photographs
separately, in one of the following formats:
- JPEG (typical for a digital camera)
- TIFF
- BMP
PLEASE DO NOT EMBED PHOTOGRAPHS
IN MICROSOFT WORD FILES - we cannot
reliably extract them for use in the newspaper!
Submitting adverts
Adverts should
be provided (in order of preference):
- a PDF (Adobe Acrobat).
- an image format such as TIFF or
BMP.
(Resolution should be at least 300dpi, and JPEG should
be avoided, since it causes extreme quality loss with
text.)
- a Microsoft Word file (please be
sure to provide a hardcopy too, since Word is not
a reliable format for submitting camera-ready layouts.)
If you would prefer us to lay out
your advert, then all you need to provide is:
- The text you would like included.
- Good quality copies of any logos
or graphics.
In all cases, please ensure we have
your name, address and telephone number.
Sending us your files
The simplest way of getting
your files to use is to attach them to an email. However,
for files larger than about 2 megabytes, or for customers
without internet access, we can also retrieve files
from the following types of media (in order of preference):
- CD-Rom
- 3.5 inch floppy disk
- Zip disk (100, 250 or 750MB)
- USB Flash drive
- CompactFlash, SmartMedia,
Memory Stick, SD or XD card
You can also send us your files using
the form below. Use the BROWSE button to find the files
on your machine and click SUBMIT to send them. You don't
need to send two files at a time - just one is OK.
A message will appear here after you send your files.
